Our Review: One of the newer members of live cam world comes in the form of WebCamClub (http://www.webcamclub.com), which opened its doors to the public in April 2007 with a handful of gorgeous cam babes. Their unique and proprietary system makes them an interesting selection filled with both pros and cons.
We start with what’s typically most important to most of us, the ladies behind the cam. Being a newer cam site with not too much name recognition right now, they just don’t have a whole heck of a lot of babes working the cameras. In total, we found between 30 to 40 online at any time but did notice some odd things with some models who were supposedly “online”. It looks like a looped video is put in place for some of the performers to give the illusion that there are more cam shows available then there are. These videos look similar to the actual cam show, but trying to go private will result in being taken to a billing page to sell you more credits. Depending on the time of day, we saw anywhere to upwards of 40% of the cams unavailable for a one-on-one private nude show.
The ones that are online are certainly head turners though. We’d classify their performers as some of the best in the industry in terms of looks and friendliness. But the site is really catered to those looking for the prototypical skinny white chick. We didn’t find many black or Asian girls, and finding a BBW woman was harder than finding an uneaten pastry in their house. Couples were more or less non-existent and there were no options for gay or tranny cams. If you like the standard cam girl look, you’ll be pleased with the quality, but it’s really not catered for those with specific fetishes. Despite the small number of performers online, it was easy to engage in a chat and the rooms were fairly empty. Since they are new, you won’t be fighting with 30 other guys in a chat for the ladies affection.
In spite of some flaws in the number of models, there are plenty of solid features offered with WebCamClub that puts them up there with some of the leaders. They offer a cam to cam option for those who want the model to be able to see you, extensive video clips of previous shows, picture galleries of many of the performers, and some bonus feeds thrown in. If you happen to login during one of the slow times, there is usually something that will be able to keep you busy. However, if you just want live action, these features will probably be of no use for you.
The pricing of WebCamClub is another way in which they try to differentiate themselves from the other cam sites. It’s free to join, and with an account you’ll be able to chat with many of the performers in the teaser chat without spending a dime. When you’ve decided to pay, they work on a monthly membership format that gives you a certain amount of points depending on what plan you choose. The larger the plan, the better the discount you’ll receive on points, and you can actually get a 50% discount on credits by choosing the gold membership plan. You can still purchase additional points if you happen to find a special lady that you can’t seem to stop watching.
Depending on your own will power, you’ll either love or hate their paid membership format. On one hand, if you’re loose with money and get yourself in trouble on cam sites, the monthly membership plan gives you a nice way to budget a certain number of minutes a month to cam shows and forces you to be more frugal and keep the wife off your back. If you’re someone who cams a lot for a couple days and doesn’t come back for months, you’ll hate this format and yearn for something a little more tangible. In our opinion, it’s not really necessary, and we prefer just buying a set number of credits without a monthly membership. We also don’t like having to buy “points” and prefer seeing the exact dollar amount we’re spending before going private with one of the fine ladies. Pricing for each individual performer varies from anywhere from $1.50 a minute to upwards of $4.00.
Overall it’s tough to really judge WebCamClub this early in the game. In the months since their launch, they’ve put together a solid foundation to become one of the bigger cam sites around. While it’s unfair to compare them to some of the cam companies that have been around for ten years, it’s still information that is needed to make a wise decision on what live webcam community is right for you. Right now we don’t see them really competing with some of the better known cam sites out there. But they do have some good looking babes available, and the monthly membership format may entice some of you budget oriented folks. We recommend signing up for their free membership and seeing if any of the performers spark your interest. This is a site we’ll be keeping an eye on and updating the reviews as we see them grow.
